@maryannokuns- First off, I would like to give you the opportunity to Introduce yourself to all your fans and the ladies out there...
Zizibo- My name is Ezekiel, I'm 23, recent Economics and Mathematics Graduate, I'm a Singer/Song-writer/producer, and I'm an upcoming recording artist who goes by the stage name
"Zizibo"
@maryannokuns- Ok, I've also had the opportunity to listen to you on iCloud, how would yu describe your music?
Zizibo- At the moment I would say Afrobeat/Afro-fusion/AfroRnB. As I'm a versatile singer, I can do a range of genres, but recently I've had a strong focus on Afrobeat/Afro-rNb cos I love African music
@maryanneokuns- Is this a new genre and is there currently anything like this out there?
Zizibo- It's kind of new, in the sense that it's literally just taking inspiration from other styles of music and applying it to Afrobeats. It's been done for ages, but I think recently it's grown, as it combines best of music into one, if you get what I mean. I recently recorded a TrapSoul Afrobeat freestyle, which was just singing Afrobeat on a trap beat. It's been called "trapfrobeat" nowadays.
@maryanneokuns- Ok, quite interesting, I love Afrobeat and I also love R&B so a combination of both would be awesome...What's your drive tht keeps yu going, being new in the industry, what keeps you motivated?!
Zizibo- Yeah exactly! My main drive has been my raw passion for music, which Has been ever present since I was little. The same passion got me to study music, got me to set up my own studio at home to record material and play around with music etc...I've been motivated by the success stories of some Nigerian artists, such as Wizkid, Wande Coal, who really started from the bottom and due to their talent were able to scale to the very top of the music business. And they have shown me that if you are good, and you put your mind to something, you can make it! Im constantly motivated by People around me, especially my "fans" who love the music material I put out on soundcloud. As well as my friends who tell me I'm good enough and should never give up my music dream
@maryannokuns- Wizkid is definitely one of the hottest Nigerian Artist out right now and is one of my fav
Zizibo- And that motivates me from time to time, as it's nice to know that there's is at least one person out there that likes my music, And that's enough for me....enough Motivation!
@maryannokuns- ok, I definitely feel you on tht one! What do yu do when You're not recording. Also on your downtime time, how do you keep Your creative juices flowing?
Zizibo- In my spare time, I read self development books, I work and practice project management at a local council in London, and I play football regularly, and go out every now and then. To keep my creative juices flowing I'm constantly listening to old and new music, and constantly learning a thing or two from people, as I want to be the best at what I do, and I know that there's always something to learn from others, so I try to do that. I also play the piano and bass guitar from time to time.
@maryanneokuns- Ok, I know you are a Nigerian brother but what tribe are you, and a special request from the lady fans out there, are you single? And what is the most romantic thing you've ever done on a date?
Zizibo- I'm from Edo, the best tribe in the world...But I grew up in Lagos Till I was about 14, then I came to the Uk.
@maryanneokuns- Ok, wow I see I'm talking to a real Naija brother o
Zizibo- Yes ke...I'm a Yoruba boy in spirit as well, and I speak it very well. No I'm not single at the moment lol...Most romantic thing on a date? Erm I sang a few lyrics after a date once
@maryannokuns- I think you just broke a lot of girls hearts right about now....loll, but anyways I'm sure you both are very lucky to have each other, all d best!!!!!
Zizibo- Haha lol...thank you xx
