Nigerian/British actor in American blockbuster Star Wars film, gives stellar performance.....

John Boyega, a Nigerian/British actor, stole the scenes in his latest blockbuster film, Star Wars: The Force Awakens. He played in one of the 3 leading roles as  Finn, he described the character as finding himself in incredible danger at the beginning of the story, and it goes from there. This fact winds up changing his life completely, and "launches him into the Star Warsuniverse in a unique way."

John Boyega was born in Peckham, London, to Nigerian parents. His first role was at his primary school at the age of five as a leopard. Boyega went to church regularly with his family. His father, being a preacher, wanted Boyega to follow in his footsteps as well. He was noticed by the Director of Theatre, Teresa Earls, who saw him act in a primary school play, which lead to his invite to join the theatre school for talented children between the ages 9 and 14.

He attendedWestminster City School as a teenager. He later took part in various school productions and attended classes at Theatre Peckham. He was a performing arts student at South Thames College inWandsworth and was active
in theatre productions there.
