Nigerian Pastor in Tanzania set to serve 30yrs in prison for allegedly sumggling drugs...


A Nigerian Pastor in Tanzania, Mr Chukwudi Okechukwu, who preaches under the umbrella of the Lord Chosen Church of Nigeria, was arrested on charges of smuggling cocaine worth Sh3.1 billion, was reportedly given a 30yrs jail sentence for the part he played in the drug ring.

According to the Anti-Narcotic police, The Pastor was one of the top members of the Drug ring, with operations in Nigeria, Tanzania and South Africa

Mr Okechukwu was captured along side his partners, after the Anti-Narcotic Police in Tanzania were tipped off  on their whereabouts in their attempts to smuggle a hugh batch of cocaine, to be stored in a house in Kunduchi Mtogani.

After a surveillance team was deployed to the rented mansion were Mr Okechukwu and his compatriots were staying in the Dar es Salamm's Kuduchi Mtogani suburbs, the Anti-Narcotic police led by Mr Godfrey Nzowa, decided to approach and capture the inhabitants, which lead to a chase within the compound leading to the arrest of 3 of the 4 accomplices, also retrieved was 81 packets of cocaine hydrochloride.

During a News Conference, Mr Nzowa described the capturing of the 3 drug dealers as "another great achievement in Tanzania's efforts to fight drug trafficking"
